United Maintenance Corporation is a minority-owned, commercial building services provider headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina. We provide commercial janitorial and disinfecting, stone and architectural surface restoration and maintenance, carpet cleaning, construction cleaning, and many more commercial building maintenance services. We serve more than 200 customers throughout the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic Regions and clean more than 18 million square feet nightly.

United Maintenance Corporation's history parallels the journeys of many family-owned businesses in the United States. The UMC story starts with hard-working immigrants who came to this country, equipped with work ethic and determination. Our founder, Bong Lee, embodied the uniquely American narrative of embracing the opportunity to build something great.
Bong and his wife, Jane Lee, moved to Charlotte during the start of the contract-cleaning era in the late 1980s. The move was a leap of faith for Bong, who started his janitorial service career in the 1970s as a day porter. He then gained experience as a night cleaner, supervisor, and eventually launched his own business. Starting with only one building in Charlotte, Bong and Jane Lee's company grew to 200 employees, spanning three states and cleaning more than six million square feet a night within five years.
Since our humble beginnings, UMC has expanded to serve the Southeastern and Mid-Atlantic United States with regional offices throughout. UMC’s loyalty to its staff and its clients has remained steadfast. Together, those key attributes translate into top-quality work.
